proven management

At John W. Stewart, we provide comprehensive support for our clients in the building industry. Integrating closely with your team, we work to ensure successful outcomes to your construction projects.

We serve a broad spectrum of the industry markets, from commercial (retail, office, restaurant, marine, site development, and property management) to custom residential projects. We have managed project processes throughout the western United States, as well as abroad.

We offer our clients a wide range of management services in the initiation, planning, executing, controlling, and closing processes of construction projects. Backed by nearly three decades in the industry, we bring the kind of depth and perspective attained only through years of experience.

Our firm is small by design so that we can provide direct and personalized attention. Whether faced with an aesthetic concern or a practical requirement, our goal is to maintain your sense of quality and excellence throughout every aspect of the project.
Project Management
Skills / Knowledge

Integration Management
The integration of multiple processes in the initiating, planning, executing, controlling, and closing of a project is the first of the knowledge areas in project management. We have worked as project managers with teams of owners, architects, engineers, legal council, municipal officials, general contractors, subcontractors, and tradespeople on projects up to $13 million.

Scope Management
The expression of owner expectations and the definition of the scope of work to meet those expectations take constant monitoring. Our knowledge in this area includes study and experience in architecture, design, construction law, and business management.

Time Management
Time is of the essence in every project. We have the knowledge and experience in multitasking retail tenant improvements, restaurant renovations, and business office moves, three very time-critical types of projects. Momentum is critical to the success of every project.

Cost Management
Accounting requires an acute attention to financial detail. Cost management on a construction project puts accounting into a unique environment of balancing scope, time, risk, and quality with budget demands. We have the track record of successfully managing to budget demands every project that we have done.

Quality Management
Quality runs through all of the processes of a given project. Whether it is in the initiating, planning, executing, controlling, or closing process, quality is established by an attention to detail. Detail that is only perceived in the closing of a project is born in every process. Our knowledge and experience of quality are based on a very broad background of integrating design into construction systems.

Human Resource Management
Successful teams are built with people. Our 30 years of experience in the construction industry have introduced us to many of those successes. Whether the demands of the project require establishing a team for the initiating process or working into an established team in any of the other processes, we will be able to contribute knowledge to the project.

Communications Management
Modern technology has given us tremendous support for managing documented communication. We have experience in working in groups of 30 to 50 individuals, managing as many as 40 at one time, and using the appropriate current technology.
